Kit

What? You haven’t gotten a massage from Gretchen for your dog? Oh My! Kit, our 12 year old golden who has a bad back from birth then survived osteosarcoma and a leg amputation has been getting regularly massages for years. It is under Gretchen’s ministrations that our dearly loved old guy has been able to live a more comfortable life after all he has been through.

In fact, after Gretchen moved from Seattle we have been making a 4 hour round trip to her new home every two weeks to make sure Kit receives the treatments he needs and deserves. All therapists are not equal. Gretchen is a perfectionist of the massage profession and takes her responsibility very seriously, constantly learning and applying what is appropriate to each client. She will also teach you how to carry on and supplement what she does between treatments.  I cannot say enough about the way Gretchen handles each new challenge Kit brings to the table. Kit gives 3 paws up and I give 10 stars.

Kevin and Fifteen

Gretchen truly has a gift. She is one of the most talented, kind, and exceptionally knowledgeable animal care providers my family has had the privilege of working with. Over the past three years she has provided exceptional care and advise for my GSD, Kevin, with  IVDD and wobblers syndrome. As well as providing comfort and treatment for my pit mix, Fifteen, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Gretchen is simply the best!

Braxton and Sedona

I am so thankful/grateful for everything Gretchen has done for Braxton and Sedona. Because of her expertise, my 8 year old Bernese have been able to stay active in various sports! They have earned titles in draft and agility with Braxton also doing well in conformation.
Not only does she do great work with the dogs, she’s very pleasant to spend time with!

Zoey and Charley

Gretchen has had an immeasurably positive impact on the health of our pack. Her compassion, expertise, knowledge, and guidance played a large part in the care and comfort and continued energy and joy of our oldest Golden, Charley, who benefited from her incredible and intense healing massage and support until the very end.

Gretchen continues to provide the same level of support and care for our youngest Golden, Zoey, who literally runs in circles in anticipation of another massage visit with Gretchen and her “magical hands.”

Willow

Canine massage is not just for injuries! My Willow is blessed with beautiful structure, but she is a very active girl who loves to jump and run and tug and perch on things.

I first contacted Gretchen when Willow was actively showing. Willow loved to show and had a lot of success at it, but her shoulders and back would get tight from all her bouncing. This would sometimes lead to a shortened stride or throwing her front wide in the ring. Regular massage from Gretchen kept Willow moving her best for the ring, but also (and more importantly), it kept her feeling her best!

Willow is now a veteran and retired from showing, but Gretchen still comes to work with her every couple of weeks. I consider it a key part of caring for her — little tight spots or tweaked muscles don’t have a chance to become chronic issues, and Willow can continue to be as active as she was as a puppy.

Willow absolutely loves Gretchen — as soon as she realizes that the car pulling into the driveway is Gretchen’s, the pitch of her bark goes up an octave and she is beside herself with excitement to get on the table.

And I am just as happy to see Gretchen (though I don’t show it with barking!) — her skill, knowledge and professionalism are top-notch, but she also has an innate ability to connect with animals and understand what they need. She is truly a key partner in caring for my girl, and has become a friend, too. I can’t recommend her enough!

Molly

Molly and I have been seeing Gretchen since 2017 when Molly was 10 years old.  She was struggling going
up and down stairs, very stiff when she would get up from laying down, and lame after swimming.  Going to bed at night was the worst.  She would let out a loud, painful sounding  moan.   At 13 years she is going strong, thanks to Gretchen’s magic hands.  Walks are fun and she acts like a puppy again, so much so that family have noticed.  They asked what did I give her?  I said the gift of Gretchen and her miracle hands doing acupressure and massage.  Truly amazing.  All I want for Molly is to be pain-free as she ages and she 100% is.  We just saw a new vet this week and he said, “Whatever you are doing, keep it up.  She looks incredible for 13 years old.”  I know Gretchen has been a huge part of Molly’s longevity and I am so very grateful!

Elliot and Daisy

Gretchen has been working on our two English Mastiffs Elliott (almost 5) and Daisy (almost 8) since early 2018. Elliott was a very reactive puppy and would not let our acupuncture veterinarian near him.  So the acupuncture vet recommended that we call Gretchen since she is very good with dogs.  Elliott was hesitant at first, but with Gretchen’s animal behavior knowledge and smoothing demeanor, by the third or fourth visit, Elliott welcomed Gretchen’s magical hands on him.

Both our dogs have joint issues :  Elliott has elbows dysplasia and Daisy has had TPLO surgery on both knees.  Gretchen’s work makes significant difference in their energy level and allows them to enjoy their daily walks and play adventures at the dog park.  Now when Gretchen comes to the house they “fight” over who will  be worked on first (both plop down right next to her) and it is very endearing to see.

We are grateful for Gretchen’s work on our Mastiffs.  I don’t think they would be doing as well as they are if not for Gretchen’s magical hands and energy!

Oscar

We started working with Gretchen while our dog was recovering from major intestinal surgery. Her expertise, professionalism, and genuine care for our pet helped us navigate his complicated post-surgery recovery and establish a routine for longterm health. She patiently answered questions, taking time to gain a comprehensive picture of our pet’s health, temperament, and challenges. Gretchen has an obvious respect for dogs and the families that love them. We are so grateful for her healing work.

Kuma

Our holistic vet recommended Gretchen to help relieve arthritis stiffness in our senior lab.  Gretchen was great with him and we saw how much the massage seemed to help him get up and down easier.  We started having her help with all our dogs.  The dogs love her, even our aloof German Shepherd sits still for her.  She’s amazing and we’re so glad we found her!

Ruby

Gretchen Dietz, owner of TripleDog Pet Therapies, is amazing. Ruby (sometimes known as Don’t Take Your Love to Town Ruby) has always been active, playful, friendly, outgoing, and at times quite the hilarious trickster. At around 11 years old, however, Ruby began to show stiffness and loss of sensation in her hindquarters. She also began to have periods of detachment that I attributed to pain. Fortunately about 2 months ago, Gretchen became a part-time member of our human/dog pack when Ruby started receiving weekly visits from Gretchen for message and accupressure treatments.

Within a couple weeks, Ruby started becoming more playful and active again.  Her demeanor has improved, and she’s back to wrestling with her bed, stealing socks, and taking an interest in the many daily events and chores of our pack. I can’t speak enough about Gretchen’s approach to working with aging dogs on mobility and pain.  I highly recommend TripleDog Pet Therapies.
